last.fm implementation

When listening music amjuke + winamp + AudioScrobbler plugin. ID3 tags are not readable for audioscrobbler plugin. So no info is uploaded to last.fm profile.
Do not know is it possible to alter the streaming mp3 that way that it works in winamp+audioscrobbler, but alternative would be send this ID3 tag info directly from amjuke system. So add to user settings to enter last.fm account information and amjuke sends itself tag information to last.fm.

Hi kanna,

Have been looking into this, since it would be a nice feature to have in AmpJuke.

Unfortunately, last.fm does not seem to accept streamed music.
Not even when using the plugin for Winamp (which I have tried).

I'll look more into this in the future, but right now there doesn't seem to be any solution available.

If you come across any code/hint/whatever, please let me know.

Yes I thought that in player side it is hard or impossible to realize.
Maybe it is easier to do server side and to use already working now playing feature.

Hey - pointing to a resource/suggestion is almost as good as code/realization.

It seems like the entire thing is based on REST, including some mandatory handshaking.
By looking at the link posted by you, I'm almost sure that I can put together some code in a future release to support submission to last.fm of tracks streamed within AmpJuke.

Just FYI (and for eveyone else interested), I'm almost done with the new functionality: submit streamed tracks to last.fm.

This was harder than anticipated, since last.fm lacks decent examples/documentation (or maybe I looked in the wrong places)

The appropriate FAQ-entry is almost ready, and submitting streamed music to last.fm will be available in the next release of AmpJuke (0.7.2).
