Trouble with covers...

Postby solja on 18-04-2008 22:11

I've entered my AWS Key in the config menu, it's saving properly, but when browsing, etc. I see no covers nor any options related to them.

I also get no "popout" for Now Playing.

Not sure if the two are related, but it's kind of weird.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

(The script is great as-is, by the way. The album art would just be gravy!)

Just for clarity:

- covers/ is writable and _blank.jpg exists within it;
- _blank.jpg is not showing up in place of missing album covers;
- all ad-blocking software is disabled.

Sorry for the continuous posts, but I've been working through this as much as I can.

It appears the problem is in amazon5.php - I went back to amazon4.php and it works.

Hello solja,

Welcome to the AmpJuke forum and thanks for posting.
..and hey: Don't be sorry for the continuous posts, - as long as they're relevant. That's why this forum exists :wink:

Great you got Amazon covers working using 'amazon4.php'.
Actually, the main difference between 'amazon4.php' and 'amazon5.php' is the fact that 'amazon5.php' uses simplexml_load_string, - which is coded 'by hand' in a similar way in 'amazon4.php'.
As far as I remember, simple_xml_load_string only works with PHP5, so you might have PHP4 on your box..?

Anyway, - you got the download of album covers from Amazon working.

Regarding the "popout" thing for Now Playing: When you click on the Image it's supposed to show what's playing currently. Could it be that your browser is blocking the "popout" ? (Dumb question, I know, but...).

//Michael.

P.S. Thanks for the nice words about AmpJuke, - despite the fact you had some trouble getting the damned script to work :)

I've got PHP5 - I'll take another look at things tomorrow and see if I can't track down the issue.

Regarding the popout - my bad. I may have just missed the icon!

Thanks again and I'll let you know if I find anything -

J
