What is "jukebox mode" in AmpJuke ?
Short answer: Your own online radio station, where users can listen to music for free.
If you've been using AmpJuke since before version 0.8.6, you know that AmpJuke used to have only one "mode" of operation when it comes to listening to music: Acting as a streaming server/service for individual users, allowing them to listen to whatever they want to hear. Individually.
With the release of AmpJuke 0.8.6 that has changed. Besides the usual mode of operation, there's also an option to turn AmpJuke into an online jukebox, with the biggest difference that users listens to the same music.
When enabling jukebox mode in AmpJuke there's a number of configuration options that cn be adjusted. This collection of FAQ-pages deals with that.
Also - and this is perhaps the most important point - with jukebox mode enabled, AmpJuke no longer handles the stream, but will rather relay the music stream to another "frontend streamer" (f.ex. VLC).
Users who wants to listen connects their media player (VLC, WinAmp, Media Player etc.) to the "frontend streamer" in order to listen.
Requesting music, however, is done using AmpJuke.
Don't worry - there's plenty of documentation to get you started as smooth as possible with your own online jukebox.
